Ready, Set, Learn
Ready, Set, Learn venues are held at all of our elementary schools and we, as educators and community members, have worked collaboratively to share ideas and strategies on how best to support young children in becoming lovers of language and books. It truly has been a "grass roots" project, borne from the idea that we truly can make a difference when we work together as a community to "raise readers" in Mission.

StrongStart
StrongStart is a no-cost play-based program for children and their parent/caregiver. Typically, it starts the third week of September and ends at the end of the school year. It is designed for children three to six years old; however, children who are younger than three years old are always welcome to participate. One of the objectives of StrongStart is to ensure a successful transition into kindergarten. Families who attend StrongStart become very comfortable in a school setting, and this can help a child with a gentler transition into kindergarten. Through play-based problem-solving activities found at StrongStart children can develop the literacy and numeracy concepts they need to have in place for success in kindergarten.
